Facilities & Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
We are looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Technician to be responsible for maintaining and improving the functionality, safety, and appearance of our buildings. The Facilities & Maintenance Technician will conduct daily plant checks, manage routine and reactive maintenance, coordinate with external contractors, and complete all necessary documentation such as Permits to Work and Risk Assessments.
This hands-on role you will help keep the environment safe, clean, and fully operational for all employees and visitors.
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform daily building and plant inspections, recording and escalating issues where required.
- Carry out basic repair work including replacing fixtures, furniture, fittings, and signage.
- Complete painting, decorating, and minor building upkeep tasks across all floors.
- Respond promptly to reported issues and log actions using internal systems.
- Prepare and manage documentation for facilities work, including Permits to Work, RAMS, and contractor logs.
- Oversee and coordinate external contractors on-site, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
- Liaise with the Front of House team to prioritise daily and weekly tasks.
- Assist with office moves, installations, and equipment repositioning.
- Monitor consumables stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
- Support emergency response (e.g., leaks, power outages, building access issues).
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in facilities or workplace management or similar
- Practical mindset with the ability to perform maintenance tasks and basic repair work using hand tools.
- Strong communication skills to confidently engage with internal teams and external contractors
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations
- Strong problem solving-abilities and a positive, proactive approach to solutions.
- Experience with MS Office software for administrative tasks
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team
- Flexibility to occasionally work out of hours if needed
