Principal Responsibilities
As an Advanced Human Factors Engineer, you’ll take the lead on Human Factors activities across all phases of development—from early research to final validation. Your work will directly influence product design, usability, and patient safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing usability strategies aligned with client goals
- Conducting desk and field research, use-related risk assessments, and formative/summative studies
- Analysing data to generate actionable insights and design recommendations
- Producing clear, concise reports and presentations for a range of stakeholders
- Building trusted client relationships and identifying new opportunities for usability services
- Upskilling colleagues and promoting Human Factors best practices across the business
- Supporting new business development and scoping future work
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our HF processes and team capabilities
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience of applying a range of Human Factors techniques and usability principles, with in-depth understanding of Human Factors guidance documents and standards for medical device development, including IEC62366 and FDA Human Factors Regulation
- Skilled and experienced in moderating varied user research and putting participants at ease
- Experienced (and able to guide others) in data capture, analysis and report writing to inform impactful design recommendations
- Experienced (and able to guide others) in formative study design and approaches, as well as validation best-practices
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Flexible and accommodating work ethic
- Achieved a degree in a relevant accredited degree program
Desirable
- Experience in a consultancy environment for the medical, pharma or health industries.
- Strong academic performance (e.g., GPA 3.5+) is a plus.
