IT Support Technician
Position Overview
Crux Product Design is an ambitious consultancy looking for an IT Support Technician to join our growing Operations team. This is an important role as it is the central point of contact for all IT and digital related incidents and service requests. The position will offer an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career, supporting a high performing team working on some of the world’s most exciting product development projects.
The role is to provide IT support for all staff and is responsible for resolving support requests with computer hardware, software, and network systems, as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands.
Principal Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and 0365) and across a range of software applications used across the business.
- Assist all users with any IT and digital related incident, whether desk side or remote, logging support tickets to document system changes and resolution actions.
- Work in conjunction with Crux third party IT solutions provider to escalate and progress tickets and project work.
- Install and configure new IT equipment.
- Resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware including printers and scanners.
- Maintain and ensure compliance to security arrangements for all IT systems.
- Maximise and promote system utilisation by all users.
- Help to maintain documentation for all systems (hardware and software), including system architecture updates.
- Assist with software licensing and renewals.
- Undertake system monitoring, including disk space and proactive maintenance to ensure system integrity, and minimising down time.
- Undertake network cabling adjustments as and when requested to ensure all PCs and peripheral devices are connected and accessible.
- Investigation and research into potential new digital technologies and system improvements.
- Assist with and implement IT solutions (hardware and software) to assist in achieving business goals.
- Assist in the provision of training to fellow team members on project rollouts and latest technologies.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in a 1st line support role.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
- A motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
- Exhibit a flexible approach to working, if required, to minimise downtime on systems.
- Be willing to attend internal and external training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest technology and internal system processes.
